Both stones are brilliant. Both are durable. The differences that matter are fewer than most ads suggest — and knowing them helps you buy with confidence.
Fire (the sparkle pattern)
Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, so it splits light into more rainbow flashes. Under everyday lighting the difference shows as slightly more fire — some love it, some prefer the calmer diamond look. Neither is objectively better.
Hardness and daily wear
Diamond is the hardest known material (10 on the Mohs scale); moissanite ranks 9.25 — harder than every gemstone except diamond. For a ring worn daily, both hold up; both can be scratched by another diamond, so store pieces separately.
Price — the honest gap
A visually comparable moissanite typically costs a small fraction of the diamond equivalent. That gap is not a "discount" — it reflects how each stone is produced. We present it as it is: different stones, different prices.
The one rule we never bend
We never sell moissanite as diamond and never label a piece ambiguously. If a seller avoids saying what the stone is, walk away — whoever hides the material will hide other things too.
